Electro-Mechanical Technician

We are looking to add an electro-mechanical technician with aerospace experience to join our fun, agile, highly collaborative, cross-disciplinary team committed to delivering quality products on time. Job Duties:

Reporting to the AI&T manager, this technician will perform mechanical assembly and testing on hardware for space applications. This role involves a variety of hands-on tasks including assembly and testing, cleaning parts, assisting in writing work instructions, assisting engineering with troubleshooting, and may participate in quality control. Highly motivated and skilled candidates will have opportunities to broaden their responsibilities with company growth.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong mechanical and electronic aptitude
  • Skilled working with hands and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read, understand and work effectively with mechanical drawings and documentation including Bills of Materials, assembly drawing, and travelers.
  • Ability to maintain documentation in a timely manner to accurately capture the status of work in progress
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a self-sufficient and detail-oriented manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to carefully follow written standard operating procedures.
  • Very comfortable with basic arithmetic skills, such as unit conversions.

Strong preference will be given to candidates with the following skills and experience.

  • A minimum 2 year mechanical or electrical degree or current student of a mechanical or electrical discipline.
  • Proficiency in standard mechanical manufacturing practices, including torqueing, staking, harnessing, reading drawings & work instructions.
  • Experience working in regulated environment under document control.
  • Experience with test equipment such as load cells, multi-meters, power supplies, oscilloscopes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Any experience with hands-on mechanical activities should also be highlighted; this does not have to be aerospace-related.

Supply Chain/Procurement Coordinator & Office Support

MMA is looking for an energetic, team player for a full-time salaried position. Under the supervision of the Office Manager, this position plays a key role in a wide range of areas. The “swiss army knife” of the office, this person will interface with all team members to coordinate, procure and track supplies and materials, and with general office duties.

Supply Chain/Procurement Coordinator Duties

  • Sources, negotiates, procures and tracks supplies and materials.
  • Responsible for PO system updates and accuracy including manual purchase order entry, purchase order adjustments, order acknowledgments, arrival date accuracy, and purchase order maintenance
  • Responsible for vendor contact regarding quantities and shipping
  • Maintaining inventory min/max levels and reorder points for all 3rd party accessories and gear
  • Responsible for creating and tracking RTVs (Return to Vendor)
  • Responsible for communication with demand planner and inventory team regarding PO shipping issues including late, incorrect and damaged inventories
  • Develop and implement the cataloging and tracking of unplanned stock outages
  • Assists with picking up or delivering parts as necessary for engineering / manufacturing.
  • Assists with tracking Government Property and maintains Government Property listing.  Also assists with government property audits.

Office Support Duties

  • Answers telephones and directs callers appropriately, or takes/delivers messages.
  • Greets and directs visitors.
  • Receives and forwards incoming packages and mail.
  • Responsible for the receiving, stocking and distribution of office supplies.
  • Assists with other duties as requested.

Required qualifications:

  • Ideally, you have five year’s experience as a Design and/or Systems Engineer in the Aerospace industry.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering;
    • Mechanical Engineering, with a strong aptitude for structures.
    • Aerospace or Civil Engineering, with a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience designing and/or manufacturing space flight hardware and fixtures. A design portfolio will be required at the time of interview.
  • Knowledge and experience developing designs — from concepts to detailed engineering, including design-level analysis and supporting documentation — for moving mechanical assemblies.
  • Excellent grasp of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong mechanical and structural skills, with bonus knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Highly experienced with Solidworks, Mathcad, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with quality assurance systems within the aerospace industry including: writing routers and work instructions, rework documentation, data packages, and AI&T procedures.
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, professional attitude is an absolute must.

A strong candidate will also possess:

  • Knowledge and experience in aerospace deployables.
  • Proficient in Finite Element Analysis (thermal and structural).
  • Knowledge of electronics, manufacturing, soldering, wire routing and cabling, and electronic testing and diagnostics.
  • Experience with RF systems for space.
  • A knack for finding creative solutions to engineering challenges.
  • Experience dealing with vendors, sourcing equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Rapid prototyping experience.
  • Top secret clearance is a plus.
  • MS or PhD in a related field is a plus.
